Martin Rix collects #SBS award from Theo Paphitis
During the annual 'Small Business Sunday' conference, in Birmingham, Martin Rix, Partner of MAD Architects LLP, was invited to collect their award from Theo Paphitis, after he choose MAD Architects to be involved with his #SBS initiative, as yet the only Chartered Architects to be awarded Theo’s Small Business Sunday Award.
Theo re-tweeted MAD's message to his 450,000 followers and as a result, the business has 200 more followers and new enquires for projects. They are also profiled on a new website that is exclusive to Small Business Sunday winners.
During the conference Martin was able to network with other winners, selected because of their passion & energy for business.
Theo Paphitis says “My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club. Like-minded individuals can share successes and learnings. The #SBS website gives a valuable profile to the winners chosen to date.
I know I have been lucky in business and I am keen now to spread goodwill to others, of course not forgetting that very often, you make your own luck by making use of every opportunity.”
Martin Rix said, “We are a young practice, focusing on design, quality and sustainability. It is great to have support from Theo because as a new company, at times it is a challenge trying to raise our profile and Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we do.”
Anyone looking for a re-tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re-tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website. This is done free of charge and the new website is sponsored by Ryman Stationery, where Theo is Chairman.
